Christmas Favorite things

There's something about Sunday evening that makes me want to blog . . but I do love the "Favorite things Friday" idea, so that's what I'm doing . . . I'm just a few days late again. I can't wait to put some Christmas pictures on here, but my dad has most of the good ones on his camera, and he will get them to me later this week. So, until then, here are a few of my favorite things about our Christmas week:

1. Darius: What a great kid. During the weeks leading up to Christmas, he responded to every toy commercial with an enthusiastic "I've gotta have that" or "You must get me that," but Jeremy and I didn't get him anything that he pointed out on TV. We got him some cool stuff, but no video games, X-Box, PlayStation, or any of the other expensive things he supposedly wanted. You would have never known, though, on Christmas morning, because each gift he opened was received with unbridled joy and, "Yes! I TOTALLY wanted this! This is the best!" Even the little dollar store stuff in his stocking. I kind of expected at least one complaint about something or other during the day, and I never heard even one. The other cool moment with him was when he prayed in front of my whole family for our Christmas breakfast, thanking God for our food and for them all coming. Brought tears to my eyes. Lord, please find a super special family for him, because he so deserves one.

2. Having my family here: Jeremy and I got to have Christmas here at our house this year, with my parents, sisters, and grandparents, and it was really fun! For a few days before Christmas, I was a nervous wreck that my parents wouldn't make it over the snowy passes, but they did and everything went really well!

3. Going shopping today: Very simple thing, but so, so needed. Jeremy had Clara and Darius here for the afternoon, and I went shopping at my favorite place, the Supermall, with my sister, Sara. I was gone from 1:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. tonight, which, for me, seemed like an eternity! We shopped, got really yummy sandwiches from a deli by Sara's house, and then did some pedicures at her house. So simple, yet so rejuvinating! :)

More about Christmas when I can get some pictures back and maybe figure out how to put video on here!
