Why I love my husband . . . .

I have to take a minute and brag about Jeremy. Since we got the boys a week and a half ago, I have fallen in love with him all over again. I have always known that Jeremy is great with kids, as that is one of the first things that attracted me to him. When we were dating, I would go to the YMCA in Lakewood to workout and specifically choose to jog on the track at a time that I knew he was teaching a kids' sports class in the gym below, so I could watch him at work. Let's just say he is very gifted in that area. Anyway, he has been amazing with the boys and I just wanted to list some of the things he has already done:
1. Wash dishes, load dishwasher, do laundry, vacuum, other various cleaning
2. Get up with the kids and I . . . change Xavier or Clara's diaper and put clothes on kids
3. Get breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks for boys and/or feed Clara
4. Plays, plays, and plays some more! He will play with playdoh, color, play outside, "wrestle" with the boys, you name it, and he plays it! (i'm excited for when we get a little girl and she wants to play with Barbies . . . that will be fun to watch!)
5. Drive the kids everywhere, including church, the YMCA, haircuts, park, friends' houses, etc.
6. Run to the store after they're in bed to get juice boxes for Darius's lunch tomorrow for his first day of kindergarten. Oh, and he made the lunch for him, too.
7. Give Xavier a bath after a MAJOR blowout diaper yesterday, and cleaned out the bathtub. I thought I was going to puke, it was so gross! (Although, I did the same thing the week before)

And, he does much more. Furthermore, he does all of this with such humor, patience, and just a great big heart. I tend to be pretty serious with the kids . . . I have fun, but I'm pretty firm with my discipline style. Jeremy can solve little issues while staying more laid back about it and gets the kids giggling, too. He ALSO has another job where he works with more kids, so he never really gets a break from that. He's simply amazing, and I feel so blessed that I get to be the mommy to his children.

One final thing: Whenever I tell him, "You're the best, honey," his response is always, "You're better." What a man. :)

That is so sweet Laura. Jeremy is great, and especially since the boys aren't even his kids, but he still plays with them just the same. God is truly blessing you through foster care. You thought you were just helping kids, but look what it has done for you and Jeremy's relationship. You love him even more! That is wonderful. Both of you guys are great and I am so excited that you are doing such a good job with the boys. You are blessing their life tremendously.
