So, I'm using this blog, not only to share pictures and fun stories with other people out there who are looking at this, but also to record little things for myself, so that, when I have time to scrapbook, I can put these stories in there and they'll all be in one place. I have plans for making an album of foster kids . . probably not an elaborate scrapbook one, but just a photo album with maybe a little journaling here and there. Anyway, this past weekend there were a few fun moments:
1. My dad came to visit on Friday, and we had planned on taking the two little ones somewhere fun outside, but it was "misty" all day . . . my dad is not very good at just hanging around and not doing anything . . . but he did that day! He helped me bathe and clothe the kids, played on the floor with them and took a bunch of pictures, (which, hopefully he'll give me sometime soon), went to the YMCA with me and played racketball, took us out to dinner, and, my personal favorite: played with play-doh with the two year old. He even made a cobra snake! Like I said, I don't get to see my dad in that setting very often, and it was very special . . he is a wonderful grandpa to Clara so far, and acted the part with Xavier that day, too.
2. On Saturday, it rained all day and our 6 year old neighbor buddy was out of town . . . which made me grumpier than it probably made Darius. We were stuck inside all day. But, it led to a few Darius quotes:
*He was sliding down the stairs on a sheet while I fed the two little ones breakfast. He had gone about 5 times, and declared that the next one I really needed to watch because it was going to be crazy! "If I die, you can have my shoes" he said. Hey, thanks buddy.
*Later in the day, it was getting a little chaotic with Clara fussing, Xavier running around, and Jeremy and I trying to get something done (maybe lunch? I can't remember . . . ) and Darius comes into the kitchen, sits "criss-cross applesauce" on the floor and starts meditating! He puts his fingers together and hands up in the classic meditation pose, closes his eyes and just hums. Then, he asks, "Laura, do you want to focus with me?" At the time, I was kind of annoyed at all the chaos, and I should have taken the time to "focus" with him. :)

I have heard rumor (saw it posted on another blog) that there is a company (not sure where) that will bind your entire blog into a book format for you, like your own little digital scrapbook for the year. I am sure you can google it.Let me know if you find it.
