Emma and Savannah at nine months

They just keep getting bigger and bigger and doing more and more amazing little things! I wish they would slow down a little bit... these might be my last babies (if Jeremy gets his way . . if I get mine, we might adopt one more...) and so I am struggling with the fact that they aren't really cuddly little tiny infants anymore. At all. I will gripe about one little thing, and then move on to their updates: it's really hard to watch other moms snuggle/cuddle/hold their singleton baby and not really be able to do that too much when you have twins. That's why i want one more, by the way . . . one more chance to just soak in that "baby-ness" . . because when you have two babies, and a 2.5 year old, there just isn't much time for "soaking."

Alrighty, back to the babies. They are pretty difficult right now, not gonna lie about that. They both move . . a LOT. They both put absolutely EVERYTHING into their mouths. They both try to stand up . . and Savannah basically does all day long. They both whine quite a lot (which I think is maybe common at this age? They seem like they're on the verge of wanting to communicate a little, and just don't know how to yet). But they are super duper cute and they are very good eaters and sleepers, and they are really great about being dragged all over the place: The YMCA nursery twice a week, church once a week, Mom's Bible study once a week, and occasional trips to the library, the pet store, or the mall, to just get out and walk around. They do well in the stroller, and we just got a new (to us) one that is jogging style with big ol' wheels that will be great this spring and summer for outside!

Emma: Finally joined Savannah and is crawling all over the place. She is still more content, though, to hang out and play with toys a little. Lately, she's been sick and pretty grumpy this week, but I think she's maybe on the verge of some new teeth? Either way, she hasn't eaten as much as Sav all week, and not even into her bottles too much. She is learning how to pull up to standing, using mostly the stairs in the playroom, and she's been kind of clingy lately and wants to be held. Trying to accomodate that and enjoy it as much as I can.

Savannah: Keeps us on our toes. New hobby: Standing up. Her favorite place: THe CORNER of our IKEA coffee table. Yep, right at the corner. I think we're going go swap coffee tables with my parents for a few months, because theirs is a little more toddler-friendly. Sav absolutely adores Clara, too . . loves to follow her around and watch her jump on the trampoline. She has been eating like a horse lately, and less and less of the formula. They both love to eat finger foods more than pureed baby food, so I just sneak some of that in whenever I can.

All three of them are keeping us pretty busy right now, that's for sure. I think we'll have to move the babies out of their infant seats probably within the next month or two, and that will change our outings dramatically. I'm sure I'll still get out, though... I always do!

Oh, I hear someone upstairs . . . I think naptime is over... here are a few pictures from the last month:
