I think I've said this every month, but I'll say it again: I can't believe how big these two babies are getting, and how quickly they are developing! Sometimes it seems like yesterday we were up all night, figuring out how to take care of two tiny babies, and sometimes it seems like we've had them forever. Just like Clara, they have changed and developed a lot between the 6 month and 7 month mark, so there is a lot to update on!
Emma: Our little, laid-back sweetie. She is sitting up well now, without a pillow behind her or anything. She is content to sit in one spot and play with a handful of toys placed around her. She can roll both directions and scoot around on her tummy, mostly backwards. She does not sleep super well at night . . she wants to see Mama a few times and be given back her binky. But, she is a terrific napper, and totally sleeps through Sav's screaming for up to 20 minutes sometimes! She is still the bigger one of the two (at 6 month appointment, she was 17 lb, 4 oz, which is a pound bigger than Sav.) Emma is willing to eat a few bites of baby food, especially when she just has Mama's attention to herself and she's hungry. Most of the time, though, she just wants to feed crackers, baby puffs or similar things to herself. She loves the bouncy toy, too, and is more content to be by herself for a few minutes than Sav.
Savannah: Within the past few days, this girl has taken off crawling! She did a lot of backwards movement for a few days, then spent a few days very diliberately and slowly crawling a few feet at a time, but, as of this weekend, she is quickly across the room, reaching for dangerous things, ALL DAY LONG. We call her our "Mini-Clara" because she has a very similar personality to Clara's, and she has reached all the milestones so far at about the same pace that Clara did (about 2 weeks behind on all of them, actually). She is able to sit up and play with toys, too, but she doesn't stay put for very long. She is the champ sleeper at night, but wakes up 40-45 minutes into most naps and screams for a while and has to fuss herself back to sleep. Not into baby food AT ALL and will eat even less of it than Emma. Also likes the bouncy toy, but has days where she cries if an adult leaves the room . . she's not as content as Emma to be left alone with sister.
