So, the babies are 8 months old already! They are so, so fun, and it's so nice that, at this point, only one of them is really moving very quickly. I'm enjoying that while I can, trust me. Here's what has happened since last month:
Emma: We took her to the Children's Hospital and were told the same thing the pediatricians have told us: her head is flat, yes, but it's not that bad, so . .. it's up to us. Thanks. More people telling us that. So, we made the decision that, since it's "not that bad," then no helmet must be necessary. End of story, moving on. :) She continues to be our more laid-back one (except at night, when she wakes up 2-3 times and either wants her binky or is hoping we'll feed her a little bit) and so she is not crawling... yet. She is rolling everywhere, though, and she gets on all fours and rocks a little. She sits up like a pro now and likes to play with toys. She also likes to "talk" to us, and can get quite loud sometimes!
Savannah: Still our little "Clara II" . . is crawling all over the place, and she is a quick little bugger! She, of course, likes to crawl to the 3 steps we have leading to the playroom, and I am really NOT wanting to put a gate there . . . she might just have to fall a few times to make her stay away from them. She also likes to play with the little door stopper things, the Christmas tree, the electrical outlets, and is great at finding any teeny tiny little thing on the floor to put in her mouth. She is just beginning to maybe try to pull up to standing, either using the stairs or sometimes an adult that is sitting on the floor nearby. She has been a great sleeper lately, and sleeps well through Emma crying at night even!
Both babies have caught on to how much fun eating can be just within the last 2 weeks . . . I feed them twice a day, and they have a snack at lunchtime, too. They tolerate the jarred baby food and eat about 1/2 a jar between the two of them at each feeding. So far, they've had sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, green beans, bananas, applesauce, and other fruits mixed with apple. Really, though, they like to feed themselves, so I've tried to get creative: Cucumber spears, slices of apple, canned pears, black beans, sweet potato fries, green beans, and lots and lots of cheerios, crackers, "Baby Mum-Mums" and other little finger foods. If you have any ideas for me of how to easily cook/prepare yummy, healthy foods for them (and for clara, for that matter) PLEASE let me know . . . I'm not a chef at all!
Can't wait for Christmas with these three, even though the twins won't have any idea what's going on. It's nice that we'll just be here, so they can stay on their little nap schedule. I think Christmas will get me posting before next month, as well as Clara's 3rd birthday, which is soon...
We were using this for a few weeks to contain Savannah, just for a few minutes at a time when we had to leave the room. At first, she liked it . . but that didn't last long. clara had fun getting in there with her, too...

Took these the other day, because they had these cute outfits on! Savannah is on the left, and Emma is on the right...

You are one busy mama. I don't know how you do it. Great job with the eating. I hope my second one is better at eating than Shrade. Your girls are so cute!
PS. I did the monthly thing with Shrade and it has helped to fill out the baby book too! I hope to do that with #2 as well.
These girls are so stinking cute Laura!
