Still trying to stick with not posting names or pictures of kiddos on here, but wanting to remember them, even when their time with us is short. On Tuesday night, we got two more boys (is the Lord EVER going to give us girls?) who are 11 and 8 years old. They are Pacific Islanders, and have two younger siblings and an older sibling. They were taken out of their house because older sister has alleged some abuse by dad. The boys had no idea about that, which, in my opinion is probably better.
Anyway, they were yet another set of kids who came in here with big smiles, big hearts, and were ready to play! Jeremy fell in love with them right away, as they were super athletic and very respectful and polite. The first night, they were out in the could-e-sac playing with the neighbor kids already until 9:00! On Wednesday, we didn't send them to school, and we went to the Johnsons Lake instead, where they LITERALLY didn't leave the water for 6 hours, except for 1/2 hour to eat a sandwich for lunch. They also went to the Y with us and went to the recreation room for kids. Today, we drove them way out to their school in McKenna, and this evening we ran through the sprinklers and played the wii before bed.
It turns out that they are going to be able to live with aunt and uncle, and mom is going to live there with them as well, until things get sorted out with dad. So, they are leaving tomorrow. :( Jeremy was really bummed when Kerry Ann called today with that news. But, the saddest moment of their short little stay here was rubbing the 8 year old's back last night as he quietly cried, missing his mama. That was really the only time they showed any emotion. They were such troopers. We'll miss them for sure.
