So, I'm a little late on posting for Clara's 5 month update because she has been really sick for these past few days. Watching your baby get 2 antibiotic shots and also have blood drawn from her elbow like a big girl is sooooo torturous. It's probably harder on mommy and daddy than on her! But, it has been a rough few days, starting with a 103.2 degree temperature while at the doctor on Friday afternoon, which got the doctor's attention, that's for sure. She seems to be doing better now, but she needs a few more days of antibiotics and lots of sleep.
Anyway, Father's Day was fun this weekend and I wanted to take a minute to give huge thanks to my husband, who is the best dad that I could ever ask for for Clara. He stays home with her one day/week and does just as good of a job, if not better, at taking care of her. He changes all kinds of diapers, is able to feed her, plays with her, gets her laughing, and can get her to take a nap . . . and he washes bottles a few times a day, too! I love you, Jeremy and can't look forward to years of watching Clara grow up and our future (Lord willing) children as well.
Ok, now to the update. Here's what Clara told me to tell you about herself today:
1. I tried cereal a week ago or so and was into it for 1 day, but then . . . not so much. Mommy has decided to put it away for a few more weeks, especially since I'm sick right now.
2. I can roll over onto my tummy and I sleep in that position most nights and for naps. I am able to roll back to my back, but it's much easier to whine and yell and have mommy or daddy come help me do it.
3. I can almost sit up, as you can see in one of the pictures above where I'm just barely leaning on the boppy pillow for support and playing with a ball with mommy.
4. No teeth yet, but I drool a lot and need to put everything in my mouth. Mommy and Daddy keep saying, "Oh, she must be teething, that's why she's so fussy" and then nothing. Just wait . . I can definitely fuss more when I actually DO start getting teeth. :)
5. I still like to be out and about more than just being at home. When I start to get really fussy, mommy takes me on a walk or to a store to walk around. I really liked the music store the other day and enjoyed just watching people experiment with the instruments! Mommy thinks she might just take me there about once a week this summer.
