Many of you have read Babywise or Growing Kids God's Way. It mentions in one of the chapters the "45- minute intruder" which is basically when a baby wakes up 30-45 minutes into their nap, and has to fuss back to sleep or whatever. I think my kid might be the poster child for this "syndrome" as I'd like to refer to it. (Sarabeth can vouch for me, as she has her twice a week) She wakes up during EVERY nap 45 minutes into it. Sometimes, I let her fuss it out, for up to 1/2 hour . . . sometimes, I give her back her pacifier and rub her tummy or head softly, while saying "shhhh" because if I talk to her or look at her at all, it's a game and she wants to smile and coo at me (little stinker!) . . . sometimes, after 1/2 hour, I get her up, as it's close to feeding time by then. Her latest addition to this routine is that she flips onto her stomach frequently while playing or sleeping and can't get back, but she hasn't figured out how to sleep on her tummy yet.
Anyway, anyone have any suggestions, or is this just a stage that we'll eventually get through? I will say that, at least 2/3 of the time, she goes back to sleep, with some persistence and patience from me. It's difficult, though, to plan things, such as going to church this morning, because I put her down at 9:00, thinking I could get her up around 10:30 for church, but with the 20 min. in the middle of the nap of crying herself back to sleep, it's 10:45 and she's still snoozing away, so I'm just going to church late. Oh, I just heard her . . . gotta go. :)

Hi Laura!!! Clara is SO beautiful!
My kids both did the 45 minute intruder thing.... and let me just encourage you by saying it truly is a phase. She WILL grow out of it and you are (in my opinion) doing the right thing!
It drove me nuts too! :)
Wow, You mean a 45 min nap isn't a good one! Tyler had me fooled, I am so excited when he actually slees for 45 minutes! He is a different kid though. I am not a clock watcher, though, so I wouldn't know..... Sorry
