3. As always, Clara and I have been doing lots of seasonal crafts together, and are leaning about spring and Easter. We made some "birds nests" out of chocolate chips and coconut, then put jelly beans inside. We painted some cute wooden Easter eggs from the craft store, put glitter on, and then glued cute scrapbook paper behind, to show through the holes, and they hang from our mantle. In this picture, she is covered in the melted chocolate from our birds nests...
4. I have been researching how to teach her about EAster, and some traditions I want to start for our family. It's amazing how much there is on the Internet, and I find myself getting sidetracked easily when I search for activities or lessons for us. I will have to do a whole post later on our "resurrection eggs" i'm making for us to start next week. Stay tuned . . . 5. Yesterday, I kind of hit a wall. I was just worn out and exhausted . . . two walking babies and a 3-year old can do that to a mama! So, instead of cleaning, working out, or being on the computer during naptime (those are the three things that I typically spend that 1.5 hours doing) I opened up my Bible. God spoke to me about being my "portion," my cup of blessing, my deliverance. I felt like He was reminding me that He will give me just enough of Himself for each day, my ration of Him, my portion of Him . . . but I have to come everyday. I can't expect to eat food only 2-3 days/week and have it sustain me for the whole week. So, I found a picture of hands held out open, typed the words to one of my favorite worship songs on it, and have hung it in the kitchen, to remind myself that I need to go to Him every single day. This morning, I was up by 6:45 for 20 minutes in the Word with Him to start my day. Trying to be better about doing this each day.
6. Emma is walking! I actually missed the first steps, unfortunately . . I was at the grocery store, and Jeremy called me to tell me. I guess he was sitting on the couch, holding Savannah, when Emma started walking towards him. He looked up, and said, "Oh, hey, Sav! Come here!" thinking it was Savannah . . . then, did a double take when he realized it was Emma! She does things second to her younger-by-nine-minutes twin sis, but when she does decide to do it, she typically gets it faster. It's like she just studies Sav for a few weeks, and then decides one day to do it, too. She did that with crawling as well. So, now we've got 2 walkers! Lord, help us!
7. Haven't been too great about my calorie counting the last few weeks . . . that's all I'll say about that.... maybe if it warms up and i'm forced to wear shorts and tank tops soon, that will help?
8. Clara has been in a little bit of an annoying 3-year old stage . . . very obsessed with talking about poop and toots. I've had to just ignore it most of the time, although we have told her that she's not allowed to talk about it at the table or when there is a guest here. She definitely needs more acvitivies on her plate, starting next fall . . maybe even before then . . hoping to find 1-2 VBS sessions that will take 3 year olds this summer, and maybe a week of swim lessons or something.
9. Excited to see my sister and her husband next weekend for Easter, and excited for all that comes with that weekend: Egg Hunt at the First Pres. church on Saturday, three cute little girls all dressed in matching outfits Sunday morning, Church brunch and service, Easter dinner with the family, and lots of candy!
10. Did I mention that spring is trying to come? I say "trying" because it has been a bit cooler than I'd like it, but there hasn't been hardly any rain for a few weeks, and so we have been outside. Just have to have the pants, coats and sometimes hats, too. Sigh. Well, the heat will be here soon enough, and then we won't be able to be outside during certain times of the day due to that, too!
