The babies turned four months . . a while ago

The thing about doing updates every month is that if I am a little bit late, I get close to the next month update really quickly! The twins turned 4 months right in the middle of our craziness with moving and everything, so I am just now getting to this. Luckily, I have taken some pictures this summer, but not nearly as many as I would have liked to. I'll try to be better now that we're kind of settled. (More on that in another post)

My babies are so, so, so good. I love them so much, and they have taken this move quite well, actually. They had a few bad days right before we left, and a few rocky days when we first got here, but they are now used to their new room, their separate cribs, and I just within the last few days, took out the bags/boxes/whatever I could find to "reduce the space" as I like to call it in their cribs. I found that, for a few weeks, it helped them to sleep in their separate cribs if I made the space a little more snug for them . .. but now, they are really spreading out and even "scooching" around in them a little bit, so we just have bumpers! They are starting to get more on a 2 main naps/1 late p.m. cat nap kind of schedule, which is good and bad for me . . good because I can predict more what times I can get out and about, but bad because we are a little more stuck at home for those naptimes. They are eating about 6 ounces x 5 times/day, give or take, and going up to 4 hours in between some of those feedings! They are down at night from around 8:30ish-7:00ish in the morning, but some nights I have to go in up to 3-4 times throughout the night to give someone a binky or just say hi.

Both of them are very smiley, cooing and giggling at all of us. They like Clara a lot, and she has done a pretty good job with them .. they don't make quite as much of the "Oh no, what is she going to do to me?" look when she gets near as they used to. Savannah has rolled over a few times, both from front to back and vice versa . . . but she doesn't do it very often, for whatever reason. They both have some flat head issues, with Emma's being a little bit worse than Sav's, so I've been instructed to try to keep them off their backs as much as possible. Our house is taken over by baby stuff: Two swings, two bouncers, two carseats, and a multitude of blankets all take up floor space downstairs. They get rotated from spot to spot all throughout the day, and are also outside a lot with sister Clara. Pray that their heads get better before their six month checkup, so that they won't have to wear helmets. :( Oh, and, at their appointment last week, Emma was 15 lb, 2 oz and Sav was 14 lb, 2 oz, so they're exactly a pound off each other! Emma is about 1/2 inch longer, too.

All in all, they are such beautiful, happy, healthy babies. I am trying my best to enjoy every minute of their little snuggly, content, NOT MOVING stage, because I know it won't last much longer! I can see "baby food times two babies" and "crawling times two babies" stages approaching rapidly . . . Lord, help us! This picture is funny because they are both looking down at, apparantly, the same thing, and it really shows just how alike they look. In person, we can easily tell them apart, due to the size different, but it is really hard in a picture. I think Savannah is on the right?
Sav sucking her thumb . . this was a while ago, though, and she hasn't been doing it lately

This is how both of them sleep right now . . flat on their backs and with arms out. This happens to be Emma, and I can tell because there is a green and yellow binky in the crib. :) We try to keep their binkies straight most of the time, really . . .

One of my favorites . . I think i'm going to print off a black and white version for their bedroom

Tummy time . . . round out those heads, gals!
