The closer we get to having two more babies in this house, the more I realize that Clara won't be the baby around here anymore. I know that when it gets really close, I am going to have a hard time with this. We are going to potty train her around her birthday, she'll be switching to a big girl bed, and she's almost into size 2T clothes, which seems to me as the official "no more baby clothes" size.
I have not posted much lately, but I wanted to take a few minutes to record some of my favorite things that Clara is saying and doing right now . . she is just such a kick! When she is in a good mood, which, fortunately, is most of the time, she is one of my favorite people to be around. When she's grumpy, look out. Not so fun. Here's what she's currently doing:
1. Saying her full name: I need to get this on video because it is so precious. Clara Rebecca "Weebow" she says very matter-of-factly when she is asked what her name is.
2. Thinking that anyone or anything smaller than her is automatically "cute." She cracks me up at toddler gym or the mall playspace (which we have been visiting about once a week since outside parks aren't an option right now and she loves to get her exercise) as she goes up to any baby that she can tell is younger than her (not necessarily smaller, mind you) and crouches down, gets a high pitched voice, and says, "Hi, baby!" and will look at me and just point at it and exclaim "Aw, cute! Wittle (little) baby!" Also, anything that is little is automatically cute: animals, toys, even bits of food.
3. Scheduling out 3-4 events and repeating them outloud in order: This she learned from Dora and Diego. She is very into routine right now, and likes to know what is coming up, particularly in the afternoon and evening from nap until bedtime. Part of her obsession is due to the fact that she really likes to watch 1 episode of Dora or Diego each day, which we typically save for before bedtime, so she can look forward to it. She will tell us, while trying to hold up her fingers one a time for each event, what will be happening, which is typically "play, eat dinner, bath, pjs, THEN Dora!" with a lot of emphasis on "then."
4. She was really sad when the last set of girls left, and actually cried on the way home from taking them to their new home. She still will pray for the two of them, as well as Ariah and Vicky, during her bedtime prayer most nights.
5. She has another little obsession with watching two of her "friends" on their blogs. Whenever I'm on the computer, she comes over to ask to watch Jayna do her ABC's or watch Opal walking. These are two girls from our church group who are close to her age, and their parents are cooler than I am and actually have video clips on their blogs. MONTHS ago, these two videos were posted, and Clara still has to watch them a few times per week. Whenever we are going to see Jayna, in particular, she associates her with singing the ABC song. Too cute.
I know there are a lot of other things I don't want to forget, but I'm tired tonight and can't think of more. It is just so much fun watching your pride and joy learn new things every day and become a little person with her own personality! I can't wait to meet these two new little ones that are coming to our family, and see what kinds of things they'll amaze us with, too!

You're right, I am cooler than you. Totally kidding :) It has been a joy to watch Clara grow. Wasn't it just yesterday she was an itty bitty baby I got to babysit?!
