Christmas Activities

We have had a lot of fun this December doing Christmas activities with Clara, and now with our two new foster girls. Some things we have done that I don't have pictures of:
1. Jeremy and I went to the Whitworth Choir Concert a few weeks ago and out to a fancy lunch. And I got to buy a cute maternity Christmas dress for the occasion!
2. Had our HFG Christmas party with yummy appetizers/desserts and a white elephant gift exchange
3. Watched lots of fun Christmas movies or TV specials!
4. Been listening to Christmas music all month, especially "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing" which Clara is OBSESSED with! She asks to hear that song every time we get in the car. So fun!
5. We have purposely not put baby Jesus out in the nativity set we have, so that we can bring him out on Christmas morning. After lots of conversations with Clara about this, she has been drilled now, and can tell us that Baby Jesus is coming on Christmas and that it will be his birthday that day!

And now for a few pictures:

We spontaneously went to Zoolights, just the three of us, last Sunday, after a dinner out at a Mexican restaurant. I had shown Clara pictures of the lights and the sharks online before we went, so she didn't eat much dinner . . instead she kept asking when we would see the sharks! It was super cold that night and a little breezy, so we were pretty bundled up, but it was fun! Clara wants to go back again.

This night will probably go down as one of my favorite nights this month: caroling at the Assisted Living facility close to our church. We had about 24 of us from our church, including a lot of little girls, and it was so fun! I dressed Clara up in a fancy dress and her reindeer antlers, gave her a gift bag of hershey's kisses, and her job was to give the people a kiss and say, "Merry Christmas!" After being prompted a few times to do this, she caught right on and was leading our group down the hallway to hand out these treats to everyone. It felt good to give her a way to spread Christmas cheer to others.

All ready to go with her dress, antlers and bag!

Making a gingerbread house with the other kids from our HFG. She pretty much just ate the candy and frosting.
