Trip to Spokane for Anniversary Party!

We have been busy over the last two weeks! Jeremy went on a mission trip to Mansfield with 9 kids from the youth group and had a very fruitful week there (which is funny, because their theme for the VBS was "Fruits of the Spirit"). I went with Clara and the girls to Cashmere for four days. Then, we had fun at the Johnson's Lake for the 4th of July . . . we could hardly get the girls out of the water! I'll have to put a few pictures on in another post of Clara in her Patriotic dress. Unfornately, the next few days were less than great: we passed around a summer stomach flu bug, complete with puking. It's strange . . . I can count on one hand the number of times I have thrown up in my entire life, one being when I was giving birth to Clara and another being when I was at the dentist as a kid . . . but I've had a "throwing up bug" TWICE in the last 9 months. Weird. Anyway, after that, we said goodbye to the girls on Wednesday (that will have to be another post, too) and went to Spokane for three days for a 50th Anniversary Party for Jeremy's parents! We had a lot of fun with a lot of his family members that we don't see very often. Clara was very well-behaved and we kept her on her nap schedule, which helped. It was nice to have people compliment on how polite and smart she is and feel like all our hard work to teach her sign language and manners has paid off! We went to Cashmere from there and Jeremy hiked 29 miles in 2 days with my dad, while I sat in the air-conditioned house with my mom and her recovering knee (she had replacement surgery two weeks ago). Actually, Clara and I visited the pool twice, I worked out twice, and I did a make-over for my mom's guest bathroom, so I didn't just sit around. We finally arrived back home here on Wednesday evening, and Jeremy will take off for his third trip to Eastern WA next Wednesday for Creation. Needless to say, I think we'll be content to not go on any road trips in August!

Instead of just posting pictures, I'm trying something different. I saw in my FamilyFun magazine an advertisement for "Animoto.com" which is a site that allows you to make short videos of up to 30 seconds worth of pictures. We'll see if it works. These are just pictures from Spokane.
